Sanctus Paths to Leadership (SPTL) is designed to identify and develop emerging kingdom focused leaders; including bi-vocational marketplace pastors who desire to lead and pastor while remaining in their current career, those who share the same desire but sense a pull toward full-time vocational ministry, and those who wish to serve the community of Christ in a variety of other ways. Based upon the ministry philosophy and values of First Assembly Church, SPTL will prepare participants by not only focusing on character and leadership development but also by allowing them to discover the path of ministry that God has called them to.
The SPTL learning environment will combine elements of participatory classroom activities and discussions, interactive dialogue, formal lecture, assigned reading and written assignments. In addition, segments of the required curriculum may be delivered via video teachings and occasional online discussions. SPTL participants will learn character and leadership development principles, and receive theological instruction, from a blend of pastors, teachers, visiting communicators, and market place missionaries, who will bring a broad range of insight into the power of servant-focused leadership.

When asked to comment on their experience in the program, recent Sanctus students have said...
"I have been passionate about church planting for a long time….what can the church look like, what should the church look like. Instead I have started asking what does 'the called out ones' look like….so the church then becomes about people, and not just about building an organization... you’re building people."- Jamie
"So many churches only focus on some of the many things that we learned in class….I see that and I think 'Why is the church not seeing that?' And I think 'How can I be that person of influence?'….I want to be that person of influence!" - Ryan
"I have been blessed just with the whole process. I took a lot away from different speakers that came... just the way they see the kingdom, the way they see the gospel of Jesus Christ." - Eddie
"I’ve had a lot of teaching in my life, and a lot of it has fallen into the category of very intellectual… but this has been very applicable so that when game day comes you will have this. There are a lot of feelings that I have had about church and ministry that were sort of half formed and this has helped me finish those thoughts.” - Stephen
"Being able to better define what makes me tick and why I tick, being able to understand those things was very cool ….I’m a little surprised at where I’m at at the end of this process." - Shannon
"The semester was very purifying theologically. Very refreshing to not have all the clutter of politics and the hoops. It’s just simple faith based in who Jesus is." - Jaimee
